Reading Rousseau’s Emile, Plato’s Republic and Meno (among others) has allowed to think about what education is for the sake of. I get my inspiration to think about all this because of Afghanistan’s dysfunctional and disastrous secondary and higher education landscape. Too much talent is being wasted everyday – Afghanistan needs the human capital – a radical reform, one that will prioritize the needs of the country is needed.

I recently read Dominic Cummings’ paper on his thinking about reforming education in the UK. I think it’s a useful model to approach and consider.

I also advise a local Afghan non-profit on bringing the aforementioned reforming programs. More on this later.
